Whether you’re savoring a delicate macaron, admiring stunning Belle Époque architecture, or strolling along the Meurthe River, Nancy is a timeless masterpiece waiting to be discovered.
Day 1 Itinerary

Morning: Strolling Through Place Stanislas
Start your day in the heart of Nancy at Place Stanislas, a UNESCO-listed square that radiates grandeur. Admire the golden gates, the Hôtel de Ville, and the Opéra National de Lorraine as you soak in the morning light. Step into the Musée des Beaux-Arts, where masterpieces by Rubens and Delacroix await, along with a fascinating Daum glass collection in the basement.

Hidden Gem: Stop by Parc de la Pépinière, a lush green escape just behind Place Stanislas. Here, you can stroll along tree-lined paths, discover hidden fountains, or relax by the small zoo.

Lunch:
Dine at Le Grand Café Foy, a historic brasserie right on Place Stanislas. Enjoy a classic quiche Lorraine, paired with a glass of crisp white wine from the nearby Alsace region.

Afternoon: Exploring Nancy’s Old Town
Step back in time as you wander through Nancy’s Vieille Ville. Visit the Palais des Ducs de Lorraine, once the residence of the Dukes of Lorraine, and marvel at its Renaissance architecture. Stroll along Rue des Maréchaux, a charming street filled with boutiques and cafés. Stop by Église des Cordeliers, a peaceful church with the tombs of Lorraine’s dukes.

Dinner:
Enjoy a refined dinner at L’Excelsior, an Art Nouveau masterpiece. Savor a dish of pike quenelles in Nantua sauce, a regional specialty, in an atmosphere that transports you to the Belle Époque.

Drinks:
For an intimate nightcap, head to La Quincaillerie, a hidden cocktail bar set in an old hardware store. Try their signature Lorraine Mirabelle Sour, infused with the region’s famous plum brandy.
